I have lived in Invermere for most of my life. Early on in my life I was always into sports, such as hockey, football, and baseball. While I was not in the best shape of my life (I was actually 245lbs at 6”) playing those sports was difficult with all the extra weight I carried around. So I made a change and hired my own personal trainer where they changed my life completely. That trainer got me in great shape for my hockey tryouts that year, and even though I didn’t make that team, it paved the way for me to choose a career in training others.

I’m a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, researcher, writer, blogger, and food lover. I love skiing, cross-country mountain biking, wake surfing, and trail running. At the gym, I combine spinning, HIIT training, circuit training, and lifting heavy weights. I like to fuel my body with tasty, healthy eats that improve my health, performance, and body composition, while keeping my inner foodie satisfied. Health and wellness are a huge part of my life and I am continuously looking for ways to develop my skills and knowledge in the field.

My own research has led me to investigate and adopt numerous approaches to nutrition; including Clean Eating, Paleo, Grain Free, Whole 30, Metabolic Flexibility, and Eating to Perform. As a Baby Boomer myself, I am very aware of the needs of Aging Adults and modifying each program according to their physical condition. YOGA- all age groups. My style is Eclectic as I have had the experience of many teacher trainings. I run a regular once a week class and teach privates. Staying mobile and youthful in the body is very important to me.
MEDITATION – I love my practice of meditation. It has had the most impact of all my daily practices. I have attended numerous meditation retreats and taught several retreats. I am a life-long student of meditation. Mindfulness is a strong component of all of my teaching.
COACHING – I am in the second half of my coach training with ERIKSON International COACHING. I will be offering sessions by the end of the summer!
MY SECRET TALENTS – I sing, stand on my head regularly, rock climb, play women’s hockey, and made a yoga DVD with my sister.

ABOUT ME: I fell in love with strength training at an early age of 16. It has carried me through life and its challenges like a suit of protective armour. I have personal experience with rehabilitation of the body and know that slow and steady always wins the race. I model my training with the philosophy that lean bodies are won with strength training and healthy eating habits; and building muscle gives people shape in places they want while trimming fat where they don’t. I am positive and upbeat and about as real as it gets! My goal is to help you reach your goal!
